Hike Lamington National Park's iconic Border Track - take in the views across the canopy to Northern NSW, be awestruck by ancient Antarctic Beech Trees, learn about the geology of the region and fill up on fresh mountain air as you experience the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.

Sat 0730 - Meet at Binna Burra teahouse - group welcome
Drop off your heavy overnight bags, collect your gourmet picnic lunch and lace up your hiking boots in preparation for the adventure ahead.

Join your guide as you venture into the canopy and explore the magnificent Border Track.
sat 1600 - Arrive O'reilly's Rainforest Retreat
Collect your overnight bag (transferred by road) & check in. Enjoy a recovery swim in O'Reilly's impressive infinity pool, relax in the spa, kick back in the bar or join one of your guides for an orientation walk to learn about the history of this iconic regional highlight
sat 1800 - group dinner in the dining room
Join us for a 3 course meal. With something for everyone, you're sure to enjoy refuelling after a day of exploring Lamington National Park. Pair your meal with local wines (own expense) and enjoy the cosy atmosphere in the dining room, the heart and soul of O'Reilly's.
Sat 2000 - Leisure
Relax in your room, stargaze on the laws in front of the Stinson replica or find a torch and explore the property by night when the rainforest comes alive in a different way.
Sun 0700 - Check out & Breakfast
Meet at the dining room to fuel up for your second day of adventure. Breakfast included. Drop your overnight bags to us and get ready to explore more.
Sun 0800 - Sunday Hiking Options
See things from a new perspective with your choice of adventures under the canopy on Sunday.
- Experience the real deal with the authentic Back 2 Back experience, returning to Binna Burra on foot along the Border Track. Reach the target of 44km over two days.
- Feeling revived after a night in the Rainforest? Conditions permitting, our guide will lead an adventurous small group along an alternative route back to Binna Burra. Experience another side of Lamington National Park and add extra challenge by extending your weekend wanderings beyond 44km.
- Rest and recover with a slower breakfast followed by a gentle morning stroll from O'Reilly's before catching a ride back to Binna Burra with your bags. Enjoy your packed lunch on the hill at Binna Burra before meeting the others as they return on foot.
Sun 1530 - Arrive back at Binna Burra lodge
Join us for an optional celebratory drink at Groom's Cottage to reflect on a weekend of challenge, relaxation and adventure. Collect your bags, find your car keys and make your way home.

iS THERE AN AGE LIMIT? cAN i BRING MY CHILDREN?
We welcome all ages on our events, however minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times. A moderate level of fitness is required to complete the Border Track and this should be considered for all participants.

What level of fitness is required?
A moderate level of fitness is required to complete the Border Track on day one. It is our intention that all participants are able to complete the Border Track (approx. 22km/7-8hrs) on day one, carrying only a day pack and supported by our guides and a small group of like minded adventurers. Options on day two allow for some flexibility depending on recovery rates and fitness levels.

Do I need any special equipment?
The essentials:
Your overnight bags will be transferred from the trailhead to accommodation.
- Comfortable hiking boots/shoes (worn in)
- A raincoat or water resistant jacket
- Warm layers of clothing - please be prepared for worst case low temperatures (<5deg. C.)
- Day pack & enough water bottle/bladder capacity for 2ltrs per person minimum
- Sense of adventure!

Can i choose who i share a room with?
During booking you may choose to upgrade your room reservation (default configuration is triple share). Rooms will be allocated as booked (e.g. 3pax booking default triple share option will be allocated a room together). Bookings for double/twin share rooms are only available to groups booking in multiples of 2. All requests for specific share arrangements (i.e. friends on different bookings) will be accommodated wherever possible. Contact us after booking to request/clarify.
