Best of All Lookout Wind your way through ancient Antarctic Beech forest as you make your way across the QLD-NSW border (shhh) and watch the world open up before your eyes. Take in views across Northern NSW, stretching from Wollumbin (Mt Warning) all the way around to Byron Bay and up as far as Tweed Heads. Frequently covered in cloud, the views from this lookout can at times be obstructed however the misty atmosphere among the ancient Antarctic Beech trees on the rim of the prehistoric Tweed volcano should not be missed! Twin Falls Circuit Wind your way through layers of rainforest before arriving at Twin Falls. Take a moment to make your way behind this incredible waterfall, witnessing it from all angles. Continue on past giant Brush Box trees, keeping your eyes peeled for your first glimpse of the Gold Coast to the east, peeking through the canopy as you begin your ascent. Watch your footing as you pass behind the sheets of water running down the cliffs, as you pass behind the second waterfall on this trail. Take note of the changing canopy, passing strangler figs and walking stick palms before you make your way up the stairs. Continue to Canyon Lookout, stopping to take in the views from multiple vantage points along the remainder of the track. The last third of this trail offers great opportunities to see the local Land Mullet and other reptile species, keep your eyes and ears out. Purling Brook Falls Circuit Eastern and Western Lookouts accessible with a short walk from the carpark - no need to do full 4km circuit Walk the circuit trail clockwise, descending to the bottom of the gorge to truly appreciate the power of this magnificent horsetail waterfall. Journey over the rapids via the suspension bridge and be sure to stop and take in the sound of the water rushing underneath your feet. Back on top, the western lookout provides a great perspective on the waterfall and surrounding cliffs while the eastern lookout gives the sense of being on top of the falls, with beautiful views across the canopy in the valley below. Natural Bridge Note: if including a stop at Natural Bridge add 30 Minutes to drive between sections Enjoy a relaxed stroll on this incredible rainforest circuit descending past incredible Strangler Figs and crossing the spectacular Cave Creek before stumbling across perhaps Queensland’s most picturesque waterfall, the incredible Natural Bridge.
Cave Creek has worn away the roof of a mystical cave, creating an incredible atmosphere inside. Stop and listen to the power of the water and keep your eye out for the resident micro-bats and glow worms (rarely seen in daylight). Be sure to take the time to search for eels as you cross the creek again before making your way to the finish line past the towering Hoop Pines.
